Choosing a Law School

Law School Admissions Council (LSAC)

Much like undergraduate institutions, law schools vary in size, location, type, and cost. In total, the American Bar Association (ABA) has accredited 199 law schools in the United States. The Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) also offers Law School Forums where students from all over the country can learn about potential law schools. LSAC also offers a useful search tool to learn more about various schools which you can find on the LSAC's page for their Official Guide to ABA-Approved Law Schools. You can also research schools through the U.S. News and World Report which ranks all of the law schools and provides other information including costs of tuition and enrollment.

Law School Connections Day

Another great way to learn about which law school might be the best fit for you is at Notre Dame's Law School Connections Day. Notre Dame hosts an annual fair in the fall semester, giving students the opportunity to talk to admissions officers about their respective schools. In the Fall 2024 semester, Law School Connections Day will be September 20th. It's a fantastic chance to network with law school representatives and get valuable insights into the admissions process.
